FIELD SERVICES
CASE STUDY
The Challenge
A client urgently needed to reroute an existing pipeline spanning 1,000 feet of NPS36 pipe. With project deadlines looming, the arrival of fall and its cooler temperatures further increased complexity, and the cost of keeping boring crews on site made traditional shop coating impractical. To keep the project on track and minimize expenses, the application of Denso Protal 7200 liquid epoxy coating had to be carried out on site, ensuring robust protection without introducing costly delays.
Norpoint's Solution
Norpoint delivered end-to-end planning, technical coating expertise, and efficient execution for this complex field application. The team performed onsite coating of the full 1,000 feet of NPS36 pipe to a bore thickness of 45-60 mils. The entire process was completed in just under 17 days.
This field coating solution required careful coordination and scheduling, enabling several trades to progress while coating work continued without interruptions.
Results
Norpoint’s rapid response plural component coating units, allowed the client to move forward without the delays that would have resulted from off-site shop coating. The project finished ahead of schedule, saving the client an estimated 30 days overall and streamlining coordination among trades. Norpoint’s approach ensured high-quality field application in a time- and cost-sensitive situation—demonstrating their reliability, flexibility, and commitment to client success.
